BALI-LOMBOK-BALI
Day 1
8:30
a.m. Meeting at Café Batu Jimbar, Sanur, (south
Bali). From here we go by minibus or small coach to
Amed, (north-east Bali), passing beautiful rice
terraces and steep valleys rarely frequented on regular
Bali tours. After boarding Katharina and
settling in, we set sail to Gili
Trawangan*, northwest
Lombok. Arriving at approx. 2.30 p.m. we will take a
swim and snorkel or take a ride with a local horse chart, sensing
the unique atmosphere of this famous traveler’s paradise. Late
afternoon we will sail to Nara
Bay at mainland Lombok
where an a la carte dinner sprinkled with Rose wine will be served
out on the open deck. Quiet night at anchor.
Day 2
Having enjoyed our abundant breakfast
prepared by Katharina’s Chef we will make a full day tour over
Lombok. Today’s program will comprise tropical
rainforest, attending production of palm sugar, visiting a local
pasar and two original Sasak villages
where we will be welcomed by the local ‘brass band’ and admire the
local art of hand weaving and pottery. Lunch will be enjoyed at a
local restaurant
Around 3.30 p.m. we will re-embark
Katharina in the small harbour
of Lembar,
southwest Lombok, from where we
will sail to the islet of Gili Tangkong,
45 min. off the coast.
In this reclusive paradise we will spend
the rest of the afternoon and evening, exploring the beaches,
drinking fresh coconut milk and enjoying in splendid isolation a
seafood barbecue light years away from the Bali
crowds. The night will be
spent at anchor.
Day 3 Early birds may
enjoy the sun rising over hazy mountains surrounding the Katharina.
When skies are clear, a view of both the Agung volcano
on Bali and the Rinjani volcano on
Lombok
will present itself. Some on board will be woken up by the smell of
freshly baked croissants, take a quick breakfast and go out for
snorkeling over the reefs of Gili Nanggu, the adjacent island. Here
local fish beg for the leftovers of our gorgeous breakfast.
The fish well fed, we set sail heading for the
island of Nusa
Lembongan, off the east coast of
Bali. Arrival at approx. 2.30 p.m. when the island is
just about to be deserted by the crowds every day invading from
Bali. After enjoying the
Mediterranean atmosphere of the place or having sipped afternoon tea
at one of the local restaurants, it will only take a few hours
before we will enter the island of Serangan (turtle
island) connected with the mainland of Bali. Here we
will say farewell to the crew and have our individual transfer back
to our Bali villa or hotel.
