DAY 01. JAYAPURA ARRIVAL – WAMENA (LD)

Arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura on morning flight), meet by guide, after arrange the Travelling permit, then catch Trigana 3^rd flight (dept 11.00)  to Wamena within 45 mintues, upon arrival transfer to Baliem Pilamo hotel for check in, after lunch at hotel touring to visit Jibama local market, hangging bridge at Wesaput and village surrounding, afterward drive up to Napua for view Wamena down town and walking trhough the gardens. Afternoon return to hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

DAY 02. WAMENA - JIWIKA – WAMENA ( B,L,D )

After break fast, full day tour to explore the Northern part of Baliem Valley drive to Jiwika 40 minutes then start to climb up to Milli mountain to see how is the Dani women making salt in traditional way. From the salt pool, walk down to Sumpaima village to see  the 250 years old mummy. Lunch will serve at Lauk Inn (simple restaurant) then walk 25 minutes to village of Anemoigi to enjoy the Pg feast and dance. Before return to Wamena further to the North to visit Waga waga  village and Kontilola cave.. Afternoon drive back to Wamena for dinner and stay at Baliem Pilamo hotel.

DAY 03. WAMENA JAYAPURA ( B,L,D )

Breakfast at hotel, then tranfser to airport for your fly to Jayaura by Trigana, upon arrive, tranfser to Sentani Indah hotel for check in, then touring around Jayapura visits : view some of the WW II memorial sites, e.g. : Mc. Arthur Monument at Ifar Gunung, and 1 hour boat excursion in the lake of Sentani to see the local tribe life in the village of Ayapo and Assey island. Lunch at Yougwa restaurant in the side of lake, afternoon continue touring and visit the Museum Anthropological at Abepura and Hamadi market in Jayura. Late afternoon back to your accommodation.

Up on arrive in Wamena transfer to Baliem Pilamo hotel, then after a short brief with your guide about the trip, then visiting traditional hanging bridge, Dani Village and surrounding. 6 DAYS – 5 NIGHTS BALIEM VALLEY

DAY 01. JAYAPURA ARRIVAL – FLY TO WAMENA (LD)

Upon arrival at Jayapura airport, meet and greeting service by your guide and check in on the flight to Wamena on Trigana around 11.00h, right in the heart of the Baliem Valley. Flying past vertical mountain cliffs and mist clad valleys, you will understand why the place remained isolated for so many centuries ! After passing local customs – there are alcohol restrictions in the Baliem Valley - check-in in your hotel, your base for further valley explorations. Rest of the day, we wil explore the area and get first impressions of another world. Napua Hills with its panoramic view of the valley, Wesaput village and its traditional hanging bridge, some Dani villages and a traditional market. Dinner and stay at Baliem Pilamo hotel.

DAY 02. WAMENA TOUR (BLD)

The whole day will be well spend touring the Baliem Valley by foot and by Kijang (Toyota vehicle). Visit several villages of the Dani people, once fierce warriors, now gentle farmers, but still clad in a holim (penis gourd). First drive to Jiwika in the North of Baliem valley to see the 250 years old Mummy. Next visit the village of Anemoigi where you can view the Dani Mock battle and Pig feast. You will see how the Dani make fire traditionally, kill a pig with bow and arrow and cook them into the hot-burned stone with vegetables and sweet potatoes. After lunch climb to the top of Mili mountain where you can see how the Dani ladies produce salt in a traditional way at a small salt lake.Afternoon back to hotel for overnight and dinner Baliem Pilamo hotel.

DAY 03. WAMENA SOGOKMO – KURIMA – WAMENA (BLD)

Today a splendid hike through the valley along gentle hill slopes and the roaring Baliem river is on your program.  We drive to Maima village ( near Kurima ) in the southern part of the valley and start our 4 to 5 hours trek. On the way enjoy the spectacular scenery, pass small Dani hamlets and see how they work their gardens, meet an occasional outpost of missionaries, dedicated to improving the harsh lives of the Dani Tribes. Afternoon return to Wamena and to your hotel.

DAY 04. WAMENA – KIMBIM/ PYRAMID – WAMENA (BLD)

Breakfast at hotel, drive down to Wamena for about 1 hour, then another 2 hours continue to Pyramid by stop at Kimbim village to see the local market. The pyramid is the one of the big compound of the lani tribes, simply walking through the gardens and visit the compound and the villages surrounding. Lunch by boxes will be provided. Late afternoon return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

DAY 05. WAMENA – JAYAPURA (BLD)

Return to Sentani in the same exciting fashion as you came into the Baliem Valley a few days ago ! Upon arrival explore the area : pay a visit to the Mc Arthur War Memorial. Great vistas over the nearby Lake Sentani. Visit Lake Sentani by boat and stop at the island to see the villages of the local tribe. If time allows also visit a local museum, which houses the most fantastic ethnic objects from the Asmat Tribe.

08 DAYS–07 NIGHTS SOUTHERN BALIEM TREK

Day 01 : JAYAPURA - ARRIVAL  (D)

Arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura, meet and transfer by car in 5  minutes drive to Sentani Indah Hotel dinner and overnight stay. Rest of the day is free program.

Day 02 : JAYAPURA - WAMENA - YOKOSIMO - HITUGI (BLD)

Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to the airport leaving for Wamena. Upon arrival at Wamena airport transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel for a short briefing about the trekking. From here you will drive to Sogokmo where the trekking begins with guide, cook and porters. Walk and crossing the metal suspension bridge on Baliem River near by Sogokmo then hike up to 5 hours through the beautiful country side and Dani villages to Hitugi. You will encounter and greeted by the Dani people who work in their steep sweet potato garden, arrive in Hitugi in the afternoon, accommodation at the headof the village house. Lunch and dinner will provide by our cook.

Day 03 : HITUGI - SYKOSIMO  (BLD)

From Hitugi village, we hike 1,5 hours down to Mugi river and cross the small traditional rope bridge near a small water fall. From the waterfall we still hike 30 minutes and will arrive in the village of Syokosimo, accommodation at the teacher's house. After lunch in the village, we hike to the next Danis compounds lie on the top of the hill to explore andexperience the Dani daily life and culture. Late afternoon we return back to our accommodation in the village for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04 : SYOKOSIMO - USEREM - IBIROMA (BLD)

Today, we hike up and down, the trail is steep and could be very sleeper if it is in rainy season. The first 2 hours hike to the village of Userem through the steep sweet potato garden near the Baliem river. In userem village we cross another metal suspension bridge on the Mugi river, and after 30 minutes walk from Mugi river we will encounter and crossing another longer (40m) width traditional suspension bridge on Baliem river. From the Baliem river the trail is going up and take 2,5 hours to arrive in the village of Ibiroma. Our accommodation is at a local traditional guest house.

Day 05 : IBIROMA - KURIMA - JIWIKA (BLD)

From Ibiroma village in the southern of Baliem Valley gorge, we hike 2,5 hours to Kurima. The still traditional Dani village are very close and can be briefly explore during the hike to Kurima. The local people life and traditional remain unchanged here, and the sophisticate agriculture system has been practiced along time ago. Arrive in Kurima by noon, we drive 1,5 hours to Jiwika in the northern of the valley via the town of Wamena. Lunch at local restaurant in town, afternoon we may walk and visit the Dani villages near Jiwika, including the 250 years old mummy at Sumpaima village and view the Dani Pig feast and dance in the village of Anemoigi. Accommodation at Lauk Inn (a very basic tourist accommodation).

Day 06 : JIWIKA - PIG FEAST - WAMENA (BLD)

After breakfast we hike 1 hour up to Iluerainma to see the Dani make salt by the soak the banana stalks into the brine's pool, dry and carry them home. Lunch today is at Lauk Inn restaurant, the whole afternoon is spent in the village of Anemoigi where we can view the Dani Mock battle and Pig feast. We will see how the dani make fire traditionally, kill a pig with bow and arrow and cook them into the hot - burned stone with vegetables and sweet potatoes. Late afternoon we drive 40 minutes back to Wamena, dinner at localrestaurant in town, accommodation at Baliem Pilamo hotel.

Day 07 : WAMENA - JAYAPURA (BLD)Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to Wamena airport for a flight departure to Jayapura on Trigana flight). Upon arrival, transfer to Sentani Indah hotel then proceed with the excursion to Mc. Arthur memorial and boating to Assei village. Lunch at local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at Sentani Indah Hotel.

DAY 02 : JAYAPURA – WAMENA ( BLD )

Early transfer to airport to catch Trigana flight to Wamena. On arrive at Wamena airport drop by car to Baliem Pilamo Hotel for refreshing and storage the stuff . Full day sightseeing tour in Baliem Valley to visit local market, hanging bridge and Dani traditional village surrounding. After lunch, continue visit Wesaput surrounding and then explore the community of the Dani people at Suroba village. Afternoon drive back to hotel for accommodation with dinner.    

DAY 03 : WAMENA - SOGOKMO – KILISE ( BLD )

Breakfast at hotel, with the porters drive to Sogokmo for about 30 minutes, then trek another 1 hour to Kurima for Police permit report at the police station. Afterwards, trek up to Kilise village for 2 hours. Lunch will be serve by boxes. Afternoon explore the village surrounding and visit the Dani huts. Dinner and stay overnight at local house.

DAY 04. KILISE – WAMAREK (BLD)

Breakfast, then trek to Wamarek village for 5 hours, walking through the gardens and compunds, lunch will serve by boxes. Afternoon visit the local people house and talk with them through our  guide. dinner and stay over night at local house.

DAY 05. WAMAREK – WESAGALEP (BLD)

Breakfast, continue the trek up and down the hill for reach Wesagelep village through Danis garden while viewing the nice scenery and water fall . Lunch sill serve by boxes, dinner and stay at local house.

DAY 06. WESAGALEP – USEREM (BLD)

Breakfast, trek down the hill and will crossing the Baliem river to Userem village up the suspension hanging bridge, it will reach for about 56 hours. Lunch will serve by boxes. Dinner and stay at local house.

DAY 07 : USEREM – WAMENA - KURULU ( BLD )

Today we trek back to the town of Wamena through a 4-5 hours hike and down passing by the villages of Seinma then we arrive at Sogokmo where we drive back to Wamena then to the north to the village of Kurulu. We will eat lunch at restaurant In town, before we continue drive another 20 minutes to Kurulu where we overnight at a local guest house run by villagers of Sumpaima. In this village we can see the 350 years old mummy.

DAY 08 : KURULU – WAMENA ( BLD )

In the morning we hike 1 hour up to Iluerainma salt pool where we can see how the local Dani from nearby villages take make salt. This traditional way of making salt is still doing by Dani who frequently visit this pool in the morning. The trail up to this salt pool is steep and slippery when it rains. If the weather not permitted then we walk 5 minutes to the village of Anemoigi to view the Dani mock battle and pig feast. Mock battle was a Dani traditional practice to train their young warrior during war in the past. We will enjoy this show with it’s pig feast and cooking foods in their traditional way. After the feast we drive back to the town and overnight at Baliem Pilamo Hotel. Lunch prepared by our cook in the village, dinner at local restaurant or at hotel’s restaurant.

DAY 09 : WAMENA - JAYAPURA ( BLD )Today you will fly to Jayapura on Merpati or Trigana flight at 08.30 am, arrive in Sentani air port and touring the city. You will visit Mc. Arthur Monument of WW II up hill of Ifar Gunung then drive down to Sentani lake where you take a boat to visit the village of Assey. After lunch at Youqwa restaurant in the side of the lake, continue drive to the direction of Jayapura visit Hamadi market and arts shops. Overnight at Sentani Indah hotel with dinner.
